Pricing
Free to hold. Tiny fees only where we earn them.
No subscription, no custody fee, no hidden spread. A small service fee applies to a few value-adding actions — and the exact amount is shown in the app before you sign, every single time.
Always free
Download & hold
Free on iOS and Android. No subscription, no account fee, no custody fee — we never hold your funds, so there is nothing to charge custody on.
Receive
Receiving crypto at your addresses or your @handle is always free.
Send
Sending costs only the blockchain network (gas) fee, which goes to the network, not to us. It is quoted before you sign.
Where a small fee applies
These are the actions that carry a service fee. The app quotes the exact amount on the review sheet before you confirm.
Cross-chain bridge
A small service fee — under 1% — on the amount you bridge, shown up front in the quote.
Earn withdrawals
A small service fee — under 1% — when you withdraw from a vault, plus a small share of the yield you earned (never your principal), collected only at withdrawal. Earn nothing, pay nothing.
Agent payments (x402)
A small service fee — under 1% — on payments settled to your @handle.
Gift cards
You pay the quoted price of the card in crypto at a fixed quote. No markup is added by us on top of the quote you accept.
Questions & answers
Pricing: common questions
Is SpendTheBits really free?+
Yes — free to download, free to hold any amount, free to receive, with no subscription and no custody fee. Because we never hold your funds, there is nothing to charge custody on. Blockchain network (gas) fees go to the network, not to us.
Where exactly do I see the fee before I pay it?+
On the review sheet, every time: the exact fee amount appears next to what you're signing, before you sign it. The full live fee schedule is also in the app under Settings → Fees.
Does the Earn fee ever touch my principal?+
No. The Earn fee is a share of the yield you actually earned, collected only when you withdraw. If your position earned nothing, you pay nothing.
Are there hidden spreads on prices or gift cards?+
No. Gift cards are paid at a fixed quote you accept up front, and we add no markup on top of it. There are no hidden spreads anywhere in the app.
