Freelancers & remote workers
Get paid from anywhere. Keep every bit of control.
International wires lose days and percentages. Payment platforms freeze accounts precisely when you need them. If your clients are global, stablecoins are already the obvious rail — the question is where they land.
With SpendTheBits they land in a wallet only you control, at a name people can actually remember: your @handle. No IBAN, no 0x-gibberish in an invoice, no custodian between you and a month's work.
How it plays out
A week on SpendTheBits
- 1
Your @handle is your account number
Claim @yourname once and clients pay it from any wallet flow — it resolves to addresses your device derived, on whichever chain the payment uses. It even doubles as a Bitcoin Lightning address for instant BTC payments.
- 2
Invoice with a payment request
Create a request for the amount owed and share the link. The client sees exactly what to pay and to where; you see its status. When it lands, it's on-chain in your wallet — not in a platform balance that can be held for review.
- 3
Retainers stream per second
For an ongoing engagement, a client can open a Money Stream: pay accrues every second against one signed, capped, revocable allowance. You claim whenever you like — no more chasing the first of the month.
- 4
Move to the cheap chain, spend anywhere
Bridge USDC natively between chains with Circle CCTP when fees matter, let idle income earn in vetted vaults until you need it, and when real life calls, buy gift cards for everyday brands straight from the wallet — paid in crypto, at a fixed quote.

Questions & answers
Freelancers & remote workers: common questions
How do clients pay me if they don't use SpendTheBits?+
Your @handle resolves to normal on-chain addresses, so any wallet can pay you — and a payment request link spells out the exact amount and destination. For Bitcoin, your @handle is also a standard Lightning address that any Lightning wallet can pay.
Can a payment to me be frozen or reversed?+
No. Payments settle on-chain directly to addresses controlled by your keys. There is no platform balance, no holding period, and no third party with the power to freeze your funds.
What does receiving money cost?+
Receiving is free. The sender pays the network fee for their transaction. If you later bridge, withdraw from Earn, or settle agent payments, a small service fee — under 1% — applies and is always shown before you confirm.
